So we- and at night there- there was ano-- a six-o'clock supper. And usually for some of us that were slower, there was a seven-o'clock supper. So lots of times I was in for the seven-o'clock supper at night. Seven days a week.

And followed them back up and then you'd- can't remember, I guess I must've- then I guess we must've come in and had supper and did our homework or-whatever.

And I had a brunch for supper Monday night and Tuesday- what did we do Tuesday- oh, we went to a- a senior's day downtown. Yesterday we went to his nephews cottage to help them (inc) renovating the cottage.

It just looks like chicken. It almost tastes like chicken too. And she cooked up a batch one night and we're having supper and Judith found out it was rabbit, she (laughs)- she wouldn't eat them then. "You eaten my rabbits!" (Laughs)

My mom would be calling us in after dark for supper after my dad got home and-that um which we don't tend to be outside so much now in the- in the winter, I-don't-know if it's because of my age or- or if it's just the whole trend you-know ...

... my dad ah after my brother said, "No, never learned a thing," he ah he thought he was being so smart, and my dad said, "Well, after supper, you're going to go to the encyclopedias and you're going to write a page about something, you're going to find in that encyclopedia and you're going to write a page about what you've learned out of that encyclopedia ...

Speaker: "By five-o'clock I've had my supper and I'm fishing." I said "You, for Christ's sakes, you're not even out of the hou-- out of the- out of the factory yet." Eh? So. Interviewer: So you must have cleaned yourself up pretty good if you were an alcoholic before you were thirteen.

Speaker: Way back then. We did what we wanted to do and we'd had walk home. Be back home in time to help with the chores at night. Interviewer: Wow. Speaker: Was always being out feeding the cows or hay and-that before supper. Interviewer: Mm-hm. Speaker: And then you come in and had supper and then after supper then you'd go out to milk.

... he got a car from his friend and we drove to Liskeard out to his dad's farm out in Diamond-Township. ... And ah, they had some of their relatives in. See it wasn't a big deal then- ... Getting married. ... And we had supper out there and-

Like we're all good friends, but the- not like a- maybe on a Sunday afternoon, you'd go to an aunt's place and have supper-

Oh (laughs) well we had- because there was lots of kids in our family, we made our own fun at home. We- we built snow houses in the yard and play outside until you-know 'til it was time to go to bed practically after supper. We had a yard-light in the yard and in the winter especially I can remember a lot of snowball fights and, you-know, building snowmen and playing outdoors.

And ah, the- I was sitting at the table here a week or- little more than a week ago now. And ah I f-- I threw the food out for the partridge and I- we were sitting at the table having our- having our supper and I- I was a- saw out the window a movement so I turned and looked and it was a fox going right along where I threw the food for the partridge.

She lives like a mile down the road from us, so we'll go see her on Sundays for supper.

Ah, we made spaghetti for supper. It was delicious and garlic bread.

Well Val and her sister (inc) stayed at her place, she stood up for us and my brother Hank and ah mother cooked this great, big supper 'cause she was having them all for supper so when we were to go down for eight-o'clock I was- I got- I wanted to get married in the same place she was-

No, they were- they were at our place for the supper that we- (laughs) my mother waited for us. And then they- we all, they went in the back seat with us and (inc) my brother stood up I think (inc). And Monica, she was four years old. She's seventy-four now I-guess.

... I'd get up in the morning and be gone before anybody's up and I'm gone down to the bush and, you-know, nobody- nobody says anything. I know that I got to be home at five-o'clock for supper, or else, you-know- ... I'll get a kick in the arse. And ah that's it. That's the way it goes.

Yeah my dad grew up on the farm. He would have to ah- everyday after school he would walk home, work 'til supper, and then they'd get called in for supper and he'd have to eat supper, go back to finish up his chores on the farm, and then he'd have maybe and hour or even half an hour for homework and go to bed.

Interviewer: He'd come home at night. Speaker: Come home and have to do that and then go home at seven-o'clock and have supper. Interviewer: Gross. Speaker: So, it was hard- Interviewer: Yeah. Speaker: Yeah.

So he remembers having to go home every Friday night, do his farm work, have supper, finish up, and then run down the hill 'cause he lives down on the Radley's-Hill, it's a really steep hill.
