But yet they couldn't get out of the elevator so moisture pretty well but still it dries out some.

Interviewer: What about ah adults, not- say from thirty to sixty? What- what were their preferences? Speaker: Oh the same, pretty well. But I- I wish I could remember the names but I can't at the minute, of some of the ah more popular books.

The depression was the hard place. See I started in depression, in- in thirty-three. And it didn't clear up 'til pretty well up towards forty. And ah it was grim going but it- we still had fun.

Interviewer: What would he sell at the market? Speaker: Well, I guess he'd sell pretty well what the market- (bells ringing) they'd sell, all kinds of vegetables and principle vegetables that you sell on the market.

And ah things were pretty- during the war everybody was working pretty well. Insurance was in quite demand then too.

Interviewer: How has the church changed in the years that you've been there? Speaker: How has it changed you say? Well, in early days the church was a community-centre pretty well.

They, ah- they did have stump pullers, at one time, but, ah, they were only good for a small stump, a great big tree, they just had to build a fire around it and burn and after it got pretty well burnt then they could go at it and chop it up and- and-
